Police in Kashmir spray protesters with purple dye

After scuffles with the police in Indian-administered Kashmir, protesters were sprayed with purple dye and taken away in vehicles.

The trouble started as state government employees marched towards government offices in Srinagar chanting "we want justice".

They were demanding payment of what they say are salary arrears.

Tom Burridge reports.
