Afghanistan is a better place, says former US Ambassador

The former US Ambassador to Afghanistan from 2003 to 2005 says the country "is a better place" 10 years after the war began, but where should the major focus lie now?

Speaking to the BBC from Paris, Zalmay Khalilzad said the focus for the international community should be on a settlement between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and increasing the capacity of the Afghan government to deal with the insurgency.
