Lahore suicide attack near police HQ kill at least 4 people

At least four people have been killed in a blast in the centre of Lahore.

Police believe a suicide bomber was attempting to carry out an attack at the police headquarters but blew himself up "prematurely", outside a hotel.

Some nearby vehicles and shops in the densely populated area were set on fire.

A splinter group of the Pakistan Taliban said it carried out the attack.

Lahore is one of Pakistan's most liberal cities and has seen relatively few attacks in recent years.
