US midterm elections: Democrats braced for losses

US President Obama has warned that Tuesday's midterm elections will have an impact for years to come as his Democratic party braces itself against a tide of voter anger.

Continued economic troubles and the ultra-conservative Tea Party movement have electrified Republican supporters, and the Democratic party is expected to lose its majority in the House of Representatives.
