Michelle Obama's plane in aborted landing

A plane carrying US First Lady Michelle Obama has had to abort a landing near Washington DC after coming too close to a military cargo plane.

Her plane came within three miles of the jet, rather than the five-mile minimum set by US aviation officials, but the Federal Aviation adminstration said the planes "were never in any danger"..

Aviation journalist and broadcaster Glenn Farley explained what was likely to have happened, saying the incident did not "appear to be an air traffic control mistake".
