Tea Party's Michele Bachmann runs for president
A Republican Congresswoman, who is a favourite of the influential Tea Party movement, has formally joined the race for next year's US presidential election.
Michele Bachmann is an economic conservative and a fierce opponent of abortion and gay marriage.
She has described herself as a 'bold choice' for president.
The latest polls in Iowa, her home state, have shown that she is neck and neck with the Republican front runner, Mitt Romney.
