Barack Obama: US economy problems 'solvable'
President Obama has said the downgrading of the US credit rating is a reflection on the month-long political wrangle over the debt ceiling rather than the country's ability to meet debts.
He said America's economic problems were "eminently solvable", and that "the markets... continue to believe our credit status is AAA".
