Irene aid promise as Tropical Storm Lee moves in

Tropical Storm Lee has drenched much of the state of Louisiana and caused flooding in some areas, with warnings of further floods as it continues to move inland.

Meanwhile US President Barack Obama has promised federal aid for the east coast areas devastated by Tropical Storm Irene will not be affected by budget concerns.

During a tour of badly-hit parts of New Jersey, Mr Obama said the US government would do everything necessary to help communities rebuild.
