Barack Obama's 'Race in America' speech

In the middle of his protracted battle with Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination in March 2008, candidate Barack Obama made a major speech on race relations in the US.

Caught up in the controversy over remarks by his former pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Mr Obama called for a new dialogue on the issue.
