US republicans debate for nomination

There are several months before the US Republican party elects a challenger to President Obama in next year's Presidential race, but the fight for the nomination has already shifted up a gear.

Eight candidates were on stage at the Reagan Presidential Library in California for a nationally televised debate.

As expected the two front runners - Texas Governor Rick Perry and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney - sparred over their job-creation records in office.
