Richard Nixon grand jury recordings released

Grand jury transcripts and recordings of former President Richard Nixon giving evidence have been released by the US National Archives and the Nixon Library.

In one tape, President Nixon dictates a memo about investigating the finances of former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara.

Archivist David Paynter spoke to the BBC from the research room where the transcripts were kept in the National Archives in Maryland.
