Clinton declares Obama 2008 Democratic nominee
At the 2008 Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton moves to declare Barack Obama the party's nominee in the presidential election.
Mr Obama, then a senator from Illinois, had bested Ms Clinton in a long, bitter fight for the nomination by winning more party delegates in primary elections and caucuses.
Ms Clinton, a New York senator, had him declared the party's unanimous choice in a bid to restore unity within the party ahead of the general election campaign.
