Iowa vote begins 2012 presidential election campaigns

Republicans in the US state of Iowa are preparing to cast their ballots in the first vote of the 2012 presidential contest, making their choice for their party's nominee.

The Iowa caucuses kick-start a campaign that will run until June as it takes in all 50 states, in the selection of a candidate to challenge Barack Obama in November's election.
