Mitt Romney wins Florida primary with 47% of the vote
Mitt Romney has won the latest contest in Florida to choose the Republican Party's candidate for the presidential election in November.
He polled 47% of the votes cast easily beating his main rival Newt Gingrich who received 32% of the vote.
The other candidates, former Senator Rick Santorum had 13%, while congressman Ron Paul got 7%.
Both remain in the Republican race, as the BBC'S North America Editor Mark Mardell reports.
