Pentagon's John Kirby: 'Mission is not going to suffer'

Pentagon spokesman Captain John Kirby has said the US mission in Afghanistan was ''not going to suffer'' after the shooting of 16 Afghan civilians by a US soldier.

President Barack Obama phoned his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai to express condolences.

However Mr Karzai has said the massacre is "unforgivable".
