Max Shatto Russia-US adoption death ruled an accident

The death of an adopted three-year-old Russian boy in Texas has been ruled an accident, amid ongoing tensions over the case between the US and Moscow.

Max Shatto, adopted from a Russian orphanage, died on 21 January.

Bobby Bland, the district attorney of Ector County in Texas, said Max had died due to a laceration of an artery in the small bowel.

He added: "but the manner of death was accidental."
