Minnesota man builds 50-foot high snowman

A Minnesota farmer has built a giant 50-foot (15 metre) snowman to cheer up local people.

Greg Novak spent a month building the snowman, which has been nicknamed "Granddaddy."

He admitted that some people thought he was "crazy" at first but they have since grown fond of it.

Mr Novak told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive: "It's a nice way to break up the winter - something to smile about."
