Rev Jesse Jackson speaks out on Ferguson death

Civil rights activist Rev Jesse Jackson has accused police of trying to "besmirch the reputation of Michael Brown", the unarmed teenager shot dead by a police officer on 9 August in Missouri.

The 18-year-old's death sparked a week of protests in the St Louis suburb of Ferguson.

Speaking to the BBC, Rev Jackson also suggested that black people in the United States were still disadvantaged in a great many ways.
