Syria air strikes: Jordan 'targeted Islamic State'

Jordan joined a US attack on Islamic State militants in Syria, a government spokesman has confirmed.

The country was one of five Sunni Arab countries which "participated in or supported" the strikes, US Central Command (Centcom) said.

Jordanian government spokesman Mohammed al Momani told the BBC that it had taken action after attempts by the militants to attack its borders.
