Timelapse shows Capitol scaffolding going up

Timelapse footage shows scaffolding going up around the Capitol Dome in Washington DC as restoration work starts on the iconic structure.

Fourteen layers of paint are due to be removed from the structure, which will then be repainted.

The Dome has not a complete restoration for more than 50 years.

The work is due to be completed in time for the next presidential inauguration in 2017.
