How important is the Super Bowl to Americans?

BBC Pop Up, our first mobile bureau, stopped by the Super Bowl pre-game festivities today in Glendale, Arizona.

Residents dressed in jerseys and face paint were were eating, drinking, chanting and generating a palpable energy.

"There's Christmas, there's the birth of my first born child and then there's the Super Bowl," one fan told the BBC Pop Up crew.
