Albright: 'Society more stable' if women are empowered

Madeleine Albright was appointed the US's first ever female Secretary of State in 1997. She tackled women's rights first hand during her time as ambassador to the UN from 1993-1997.

Speaking to the BBC, Albright says society is more stable if women are "politically and economically empowered."
