US puts breaks on Afghanistan drawdown

The United States will keep its troop levels in Afghanistan steady through the end of 2015, instead of drawing down their numbers as originally planned.

President Obama announced the change at the White House during a press conference with the visiting Afghan President.

Ashraf Ghani has been on a whirlwind tour of the American capital, pushing for continued US support of his country.
