Baltimore riots: Obama calls for 'soul searching'

US President Barack Obama has said that rioting in the city of Baltimore has highlighted a crisis in policing in some American communities.

A state of emergency has been declared in the city, and a curfew is in place.

It follows violent protests after the death of a black man who had been held in police custody.

The BBC's Aleem Maqbool reports from Baltimore.
