US Amtrak train derailment 'a disastrous mess'

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has said at least five people died when a passenger train derailed in his city.

Up to 10 carriages of a Washington-New York Amtrak service went off the track on Tuesday evening.

Mr Nutter said that according to preliminary information 243 people were on the train. He described the scene of the incident as a "disastrous mess".
