Boston bomber trial: US Attorney says verdict is 'fair and just'
US officials have welcomed the death sentence handed to the man convicted of 2013 Boston Marathon bombing as "a fair and just verdict".
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, now 21, was found guilty of all the charges against him in April. Three people were killed and more than 260 injured when bombs he and his brother planted at the finish line exploded.
US Attorney Carmin Ortiz told reporters that it was "not a day for celebration" but for "reflection and healing".
