New York Thanksgiving parade takes place with added security

Millions of people attended New York's annual Thanksgiving Day parade, which was held under tight security.

About 200 officers from a new counter-terrorism unit were added by New York Police Department to work alongside a record number of police officers.

Officials urged residents and tourists to attend the city's 89th parade, following the attacks in Paris on 13 November
