Politicians urged not to use shooting to 'exploit fear'
The Council on American-Islamic Relations has urged politicians not to use a nightclub shooting in Florida to "score points" or "exploit fear".
Nihad Awad, executive director and co-founder of the organisation, made the plea after 50 people were killed during a shooting in a gay nightclub in Orlando. The gunman, named by officials as Omar Mateen, was killed after taking hostages at the Pulse club.
