Angele Grenier is battling Quebec's maple syrup syndicate

The Federation of Quebec Maple Syrup Producers controls nearly every aspect of syrup production in the province.

Angele Grenier, a maple syrup producer in rural Quebec, has been fighting the provincial syndicate for years in court.

Grenier, frustrated with the limitations, began selling syrup illicitly to buyers in other provinces, which led to the legal battle.

Now Canada's highest court is deciding whether to hear her appeal.
