Domino's Pizza sales rise after launch of new range

Pizza delivery chain Domino's said the launch of a new "gourmet" range and sponsorship of ITV game show Red or Black had helped to boost sales.

The firm, which has 702 outlets, said in a trading update that like-for-like sales in the UK increased 4.1% in the last three months.

The gourmet range is designed to win over more middle-class customers.

Chief executive Chris Moore said market conditions remained tough, but Domino's should meet analysts' profit forecasts.

The company runs the British and Irish franchises of the global delivery brand.

It said that strong sales growth in Britain had offset a decline in sales in the Irish Republic.

City analysts have forecast Domino's will make full-year pre-tax profits of between £40.7m and £43m.

Domino's said its online presence had continued to grow, with e-commerce sales accounting for 46.6% of UK deliveries in the 13-week period to 25 September.

Total online sales grew 36% to £45m.
