Apple's legal battles look set to continue

Apple's court-mediated settlement with Chinese computer maker Shenzhen Proview Technology over the "iPad" name is just a string of legal actions the company is dealing with.

Apple, which recently became the world's most valuable firm, is also involved in patent and trademark disputes with rivals such as Samsung and HTC.

Recently, it lost a case against Samsung in a Dutch court, when it was asked to pay damages to the South Korean firm for a patent infringement.

Meanwhile, Apple is trying to block sales of some models of Samsung's Galaxy range of tablets and smartphone in the US.

So just how many more of these settlements are we likely to see? Tim Charlton from Charlton Media Group told the BBC's Asia Business Report that the sums of money involved mean the legal battles will continue.
