The rise of the digital media revolution in Qatar


A recent fire in one of Qatar's biggest shopping malls that led to the death of 19 people, including 13 young children was both a terrible tragedy and a huge news story.

However, the coverage by Qatar's largely state-run media was criticised as being slow and uninformative.

Instead, digital media won the day, keeping the country informed as the disaster unfolded.

The BBC's Stephanie Hancock looks into what affect the digital revolution is having on the media industry in Qatar.
