UK retail sales down by 0.8% in October

Official figures show that consumers tightened their spending in October.

UK Retail sales volumes dropped by more than expected, down by 0.8% compared with September.

Kate Davis from the Office for National Statistics said certain sectors were still seeing a rise in sales.
