PPI complaints "have doubled" says ombudsman

The number of complaints received by the financial ombudsman relating to PPI doubled in the last six months, the chief ombudsman has said.

The service received 211,885 new PPI complaints in the second half of 2012.

Natalie Ceeney told BBC News that banks were not yet applying the correct procedure to resolve many customers complaints.
