European farmers braced for low harvests

As wintry weather conditions continue into the traditional period for spring sowing, farmers in Northern Europe are bracing themselves for disappointing harvests.

Last year saw low yields in many countries across the world due to extreme climate conditions, pushing up the global price of wheat and increasing food prices.
