Jordan doubles tax on mobile phones and calls

Jordan's government has doubled taxes on mobile phone calls and handsets.

Customers are taking to Twitter and Facebook to vent their frustration, but it is not just the public who are angry.

Telecoms bosses say they are being treated like a cash cow to plug the country's gaping budget deficit.

The tax follows recent price hikes in petrol and electricity.
