German media takeover 'glorifies war'

2 September 2013 Last updated at 10:19 BST

The regulator of commercial radio, Ofcom, is considering a request to block a big take-over of a British radio station because the media group which has bought it publishes a controversial magazine in Germany.

The Bauer Media Group has bought Absolute Media which used to be known as Virgin Radio but it also owns a magazine in Germany called Der Landser which depicts the exploits of German soldiers in the last war in a favourable light.

The BBC's Steve Evans reports from Berlin.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 2 September 2013.
