India revamps visa system to boost visitor numbers

The Indian government has decided to overhaul the country's visa system in an attempt to boost tourism and business.

The country's limited visa-on-arrival scheme is to be extended to another 40 nationalities including visitors from the US, Australia and much of Europe, with 16 different types of visa reduced to just three - for work, business and tourism.
