IHG boss: 'Hotel group is asset light but brand heavy'

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) boss Richard Solomons has been talking about the firm's strategy after a 10% jump in operating profits, to $688m.

IHG franchises, leases, manages or owns 4,700 hotels and 687,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries across the globe.

Mr Solomons told BBC World his firm was big because it works with third-party owners: "Our strategy has been about going asset light - and we've been selling off hotels for many years now".
