Chinese president starts landmark trade visit to Europe

Chinese President Xi Jinping has started his long-awaited tour of Europe in which he will attend a nuclear summit and meet European leaders in the hope of signing a series of trade deals.

There are reports suggesting the Chinese government will place a large order for Airbus jets - but reaching a deal between European leaders and their Chinese counterpart is often challenging.

Hugh Schofield reports from Paris.
