India elections: The politicians controlling the news

For some of India's politicians, paying - quite legally - for favourable coverage in newspapers and on television, is not enough. They want to own the news bulletins themselves.

It is a trend started by regional parties that is now spreading across India.

The BBC's Shilpa Kannan reports from the city of Chennai, South India.
