18 June 2014 Last updated at 11:54 BST

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages fell by 0.6% year-on-year in May, the sharpest fall in a decade.

Falls in the price of everyday basics such as bread, cereals and vegetables drove the drop.

Dominic Laurie reports from Bury Market.
