McDonalds have announced plans to create up to 8,000 jobs in the UK.
The restaurant chain's senior vice president, Jez Langhorn, said the jobs would be zero-hour contracts in order to give staff "great flexibility".
Speaking with BBC Radio 5 live's Tony Livesey, he said the contracts were aimed at first-time workers trying to juggle a job with other commitments, such as studying.
