US GDP: Shrinking economy hits small businesses

A 2.9% contraction in the US economy has seen small businesses endure a major drop in sales during the early months of this year.

Economists have been forced to lower their growth forecasts for the year, after the US economy suffered its worst performance for five years in the first quarter of 2014, latest figures show.
