Google has demonstrated Android TV in its latest effort to get into streaming television.

The presentation was part of the Google developer conference in San Francisco.

Android TV has a voice activated search system and a programme recommendation service.

It also announced that the first smartwatches powered by its Android Wear operating system are now available for pre-order.

The BBC's Sharanjit Leyl spoke to Naveen Menon, Asia-pacific head of communications, media and technology practice at AT Kearney, and asked him about the latest move into TV software.
