Economic reforms agenda 'key to Chinese growth'

16 July 2014 Last updated at 10:45 BST

China's economic reform agenda is key to ensuring the country can sustain long-term growth, Fidelity Worldwide Investment's Catherine Yeung has said.

She told the Today programme's Justin Rowlatt that the government is looking to increase railway budgets and open up capital markets among a series of measures to restructure the country's economy.

Her comments come as new figures indicate that China's economy grew 7.5% in the April-to-June quarter, up from 7.4% growth in the previous quarter.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Tuesday 16 July.
