US woos African leaders for trade and investment deals

African leaders were wined and dined in Washington this week at a conference designed to boost US trade links and investment across the continent.

The US invests billions of dollars in Africa, and this week committed $33bn (£19.6bn) from businesses and the government.

However, critics say the US has moved too slowly, and is lagging behind growing Chinese investment.

The BBC's Nomsa Maseko looks into what has been achieved at the summit.
