Election 2016: Polling stations close across West Yorkshire

Polling stations have closed across West Yorkshire after a day of people voting in council and police commissioner elections.

Votes were being cast in council elections in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield.

Across West Yorkshire, an election was also held for a Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

Wakefield Council is due to declare its results at 04:00 GMT on Friday. The others are expected from 11:00 onwards.

The result of the PCC election is expected at about 17:00.

Across England elections are taking place for more than 120 councils and the London Assembly, and to elect mayors in Bristol, Liverpool, London and Salford, and 36 PCCs.
