Yolanda Be Cool tops singles chart

Yolanda Be Cool has topped the UK singles chart with We Speak No Americano.

It is the first number one for the Australian dance duo - Sylvester Martinez and Johnson Peterson, along with producer D Cup Duncan MacLennan.

The song first entered the chart two weeks ago at number five before climbing up the ranks.

US rapper Eminem clung to the number one spot in the album charts with Recovery.

Yolanda Be Cool have have been making their presence felt on dance floors across Europe over the last year but this is their first foray into the Official Charts.

We Speak No Americano features samples of 1956 track Tu Vuo Fa' L'Americano (You Want to be American) by Renato Carosone.

The song overtook last week's number one single, Airplanes, by rapper B.O.B. featuring Hayley Williams, which dropped to number three.

And US rapper Eminem moved up one spot to two with Love The Way You Lie, featuring Rihanna.

Katy Perry and rapper Snoop Dogg remained at number four with California Gurls.

The highest new entry was DJ Got Us Falling In Love by Usher, featuring Pitbull, which came in at number 20.

Behind Eminem in the album chart, Professor Green claimed the highest new entry with his debut album Alive Til I'm Dead at number two.

Pop princess Kylie Minogue dropped to number four with Aphrodite, while Plan B climbed to three with The Defamation of Strickland Banks.
