Kid Cudi admits drugs possession

US rapper Kid Cudi has been sentenced to two days' community service after pleading guilty in court in Manhattan to possession of cocaine.

He was arrested on 11 June after a police officer said she found the drug in his trouser pocket.

The rapper, who was not in court, has been told the charge will be dropped if he stays out of trouble for six months.

Cudi - real name Scott Mescudi - had a number two UK hit in January 2009 with Day 'n' Nite.

The rapper, 26, is signed to Kanye West's label and has supported him on tour.

He is due back in court on 23 March.
